Bike the Great Allegheny Passage - 16 miles (easy)

Bring your bikes or make arrangements for rentals and journey along your 16 mile, downhill ride from Frostburg to Cumberland, MD. Along this route you will travel though small trail town's ride through The Brush Tunnel, one of the smaller tunnels on the trail. Lunch, bike rentals and guides are additional.
Bike the Great Allegheny Passage - 32 miles (moderate)
$55 per person
Bring your bikes or make arrangements for rentals and journey along your 32 mile, mostly downhill ride from Meyersdale, PA to Cumberland, MD. Along this route you will travel over the Eastern Continental Divide, though small trail towns, and ride through The Big Savage Tunnel, the longest tunnel on the trail at 3,294' long. This shuttle consists of the guest and their car going to Cumberland, being dropped off and then taken to Meyersdale. From there they ride down hill to their own car to travel home at their own pace and leisure. Lunch and guides are additional options you may choose.

This is a perfect way to experience some of what Western Maryland has to offer! Start in Cumberland, MD at the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad and load your bike on the Train and let your journey begin. Train ticket will be provided by Rocky Gap Resort. You will travel, west on the steam powered locomotive, through the Narrows, Helmstetter's Curve (a favorite photos spot for train buffs), through the Brush Tunnel, Woodcock Hollow and end your ride at the historic Frostburg Depot where you and your bike de-board. Spend as much time in town as you like and then peddle across the Plain back to Cumberland at your leisure where your Automobile awaits you.

Enjoy 70 miles of the Great Allegheny Passage without having to do anything but pedal. The Savage River Lodge will take care of all of the arrangements. Your trip begins with your arrival to the Lodge. Get settled into one of our 18 luxury cabins and have dinner and drinks in their gourmet American cuisine restaurant. After a restful night's sleep, we'll shuttle you to Ohiopyle, PA, where we'll send you off on the first leg of your journey with a gourmet packed lunch and a souvenir water bottle. Pedal to Meyersdale, PA's train station, where we will be waiting to pick you up and bring you back to the Lodge. Once back, have another meal in our restaurant or enjoy in-cabin dining in the privacy of your own cabin. The next morning, pack your car and say goodbye to your new Lodge friends and we'll head back to the train station in Cumberland, MD, where we'll drop your vehicle. This adventure is designed so you don't have to worry about the planning logistics of food, luggage moving, shuttle service or moving your car to the end of the trip once you have completed the entire Great Allegheny Passage. Over a three-day time frame, you will bike 50 miles the first day from Boston to Ohiopyle, 40 miles the second day from Ohiopyle to Meyersdale and 30 miles on the last day from Meyersdale to Cumberland. Arrive at the Lodge and stay in one of our 18 luxury cabins. Our gourmet American cuisine provides the perfect fuel for your journey and our full bar and award-winning wine list make the meal extra special. The next day, we'll give you a special biker's breakfast and shuttle you to Boston, PA. You will ride from Boston to Ohiopyle, stopping for lunch at one of the many beautiful spots along the trail. We'll pick you up at the Kickstand ice cream stand in Ohiopyle and bring you back to the Lodge for another relaxing and rejuvenating evening. Dine with us again in our restaurant, or enjoy the privacy of in-cabin dining. Schedule a massage for two, or take an evening hike on one of our trails. The next two days have the same great schedule. We'll provide the biker's breakfast and the shuttle as you complete your journey â€“ and 180 miles â€“ over two-day's time. Enjoy our restaurant and amenities each evening. The final day, we'll head to Cumberland first thing, drop your vehicle and then shuttle you back to Meyersdale.
